Due dates--not everything works like the library

So, here it is. My due date. And? NOTHING.

We saw the doctor this afternoon. I am happily dilated to 3 cm. (I was 2.5-3cm last Wednesday, so no real progress has been made this week.) But I am not having contractions other than those silly mild cramping Braxton Hicks contractions that come and go when they want and do next to nothing.

But, they have scheduled me for a "just in case" induction next Friday, April 11th.

This is where you guys come in. I have never gone to term before (three pregnancies all with pre-eclampsia and induction). Pray that we do not have to wait that long to meet our little girl. I'm already VERY big (last week's appointment included the pronouncement that this was going to be another big baby--baby #3 weighed in at 9 lb., 10 oz.) and not really looking forward to dragging this out another 10 days. We have two churches praying here locally for our little girl to make a quick arrival. Please join us in that prayer, and for an uneventful delivery in addition.

Thanks! (Ps. Can I charge her 10 cents each day she goes past the due date????)

I love this post. You're right, the due date definitely does not have a lot in common with the library due date. I will pray that you meet your daughter soon and that she arrives safely before the 11th. Unless of course God likes April 11th and that's that. No I don't think you can charge her the 10 cents. That was too funny. My daughter is going to get a kick out of this post. It really made me laugh. I'm praying for you and baby girl. How exciting. I was overdue for all my babies except one and I had some big one's too. The biggest was only 9 lbs. 5 oz and that was due to gestational diabetes. So I definitely know how hard the waiting can be. You can do like I did, I got this eggplant ptarmigan recipe off this site where the woman kept going to this restaurant and eating the eggplant when they were past due and went into labor the next day. Apparently this happened like more than 30 times. The guy gets their autographs and pictures and hangs them up on the wall in the restaurant. I tried this, even ate the eggplant for 3 days in a row. Nothing. Maybe you would have better luck though.

PS we are actually stationed at Schofield barracks which we are lucky enough to have been stationed to for the last 6 years. I live in a housing area for all services called AMR. but it is only 5 minutes from Hickam and about the same the other way to Tripler.
